Web Accessibility Focus

Collaboration and Partnerships

Web Accessibility Focus strives to provide accessibility training, consultation, and service that is relevant and meaningful, and reflects best practices in accessible EIT. For this reason, we are active in the community of IT Accessibility specialists. We work collaboratively with numerous groups within the University and around the country, and we continually learn more about ways to address common accessibility issues. We gain both in quality and effectiveness by learning from the experience of others, and adapting our knowledge in ways that best suit the needs of the University community.

Our UI collaborative partners include:

  • UI Disability Planning and Action Committee
  • Student Disability Services
  • Faculty/Staff Disability Services
  • Office of the ADA Coordinator
  • Chief Diversity Office

In addition, the IT Accessibility group participates in the Big Ten Academic Alliance Chief Information Officers' Information Technology Accessibility Group, a consortium of accessibility specialists from around the Big Ten Academic Alliance . This partnership helps to ensure that our approaches are consistent with best practices in the Big Ten Academic Alliance, and to keep current on accessibility activities at other member institutions.
